R.I.P Fred Hampton

Activist Fred Hampton who was murdered back in 1969 while being the chairman of Black Panther Party of Illinois. For those who don't know the video on the right hand side of the site is about Fred Hampton's death. A lot of our youth don't know about Fred's work, nor how he was killed. Fred Hampton majored in pre-law, and used what he learned as a defense for the Black Panthers. Hampton was a huge part of the NAACP's youth campaign, and fought for changes in communities, and he believed in nonviolent work. After moving to Chicago & joining the Black Panthers Fred was able to create treaty's between Chicago's biggest street gangs. Fred Hampton went on to rapidly grow within the ranks of the Black Panthers due to his work, and especially the actions of the FBI & it's Counter Intelligence "Cointelpro" program taking down key parts of the Black Panther Movement. The FBI's "COINTELPRO" program was also the cause of Hampton's death, since the FBI used it to mostly discredit, make false stories, harass, and to illegally force their way into homes of whomever they thought to be a threat. The Chicago police raided his home, and gunned him down while he was asleep without warning. The police later claimed that the Black Panther Party opened fire on them first, but the bullet holes were evidence enough to prove that there was no gunfire from inside the house, all bullets fired came from the outside where the police were.
